Nicola Blount is the EQA Client Manager at Weqas, responsible for the day to day management of the Weqas EQA team and client issues. Nicola is committed to maintaining high professional standards, participant satisfaction and has extensive POCT knowledge. Nicola believes that providing an exceptional experience with every participant she speaks with creates a positive change in EQA. Nicola has over 28 years’ experience in Laboratory Medicine; worked as a Senior Biomedical Scientist and POCT Manager at Llandough Hospital part of the University Hospital of Wales Health Board. Nicola is a Fellow of the IBMS and a Chartered Scientist.

Julie is the Logistics and Contract Manager, bringing over 40 years of experience in healthcare. She began her career in the steroid assay laboratory at the Tenovus Cancer Charity, supporting vital research. In 1998, she moved to Laboratory Medicine at the University Hospital of Wales before joining Weqas in 2004.

In her current role, Julie oversees the day-to-day management of stock control and supplier contracts, working closely with the Procurement Team at the University Hospital of Wales. She ensures the continuous supply of critical materials to support the growing demand for Weqas’ EQA services.

Julie also leads the coordination of bespoke services for clients in over 40 countries. This includes liaising with customs agents and courier services, as well as navigating import and export regulations to ensure global distribution.
