Reference values provide accurate measurement of Glucose for assessment of traceability to the SI unit for routine diagnostic methods used in patient monitoring. Metrological traceability of methods is a requirement of ISO/IEC 15189 accreditation and returned EQA results should be scored against the Reference Value where available.
ID-GCMS values are assigned to all EQA material for Glucose using the modified NIST definitive method, allowing a “true” assessment for accuracy of participant returned results to the Reference method for each distribution. This service is also available to external clients in the post-marketing vigilance of the EU Directive 98/79/EC.
